Il Mafi (also known as Static on Roll) is a special wheeled trailer platform used in particular for the transport of heavy or oversized goods. They are very similar to flat rack shipping containers, with the difference that they have a set of rear wheels.
Generally, MAFIs are specially designed for multimodal transport: ships, trains and trucks. After being loaded, the trailers are transferred to a RoRo vessel or railway platform. Once they arrive, they are transferred to a truck for final delivery.
Among the advantages of transport with Mafi is safe and stable handling of heavy loads with the addition of a reduction in loading/unloading times and damage. Furthermore, they are very convenient for multimodal transportation.
